Montana INBRE is soliciting proposals from partner institutions for instrumentation, research supplies, educational and research infrastructure, and STEM/Health Science teaching materials. Infrastructure can include lab and teaching equipment, educational resources, software, and hardware that will enhance the biomedical research and teaching capacity at the applicant institution. Successful proposals will be funded up to $50,000 direct costs for the current grant year, which ends April 30, 2026.
Initial consideration will be given beginning October 3, 2025, to proposals originating from MT INBRE Network Primarily Undergraduate Institutions (PUIs), Tribal Colleges (TCs), and Community Colleges (CCs). Proposals will then be reviewed on a rolling basis through February 15, 2026, or until available funds are exhausted. All awarded funding must be fully spent by April 1, 2026.
This call is open to all faculty and administrators located at participating Montana INBRE network institutions. College administrators (presidents, deans, department heads) and faculty in the biomedical, social/behavioral, community health, and nutritional sciences are eligible to apply. Initial consideration will be given to proposals originating from Primarily Undergraduate Institutions (PUIs), Tribal Colleges (TCs), and Community Colleges (CCs). Writers of proposals originating from MSU-Bozeman and/or UM-Missoula are encouraged to first discuss ideas with Montana INBRE leadership before submitting.
Proposal Format and Required Forms
Proposals must include a description of resources requested, a justification for their purchase (including projected number of users), an itemized budget and budget justification, and the name, credentials and position of the individual responsible for oversight and for documenting ongoing outcomes. Proposals should be no longer than 2-3 pages, not including the budget and budget justification pages, and should be submitted on the official NIH form pages linked below.
